About Ruff Life OC
Hi! My name is Eddie, I’m Founder, Owner & Walker/Sitter of Ruff Life OC. I was born and raised in Huntington Beach, CA and currently live with my wife and two kiddos in Aliso Viejo.
Many, many years ago I found myself with a black and tan dachshund puppy (Roxy) and a year later she had a new red, doxie brother (Jaxen). How I went from having no pets to two puppies in a year, I have no idea. But I know this… I’ve always loved dogs and find that connecting with them can be easier than connecting with humans sometimes. My wife jokingly calls me the “dog whisperer” because whenever we see a stray dog (which is oddly common), rather than running from me, they tend to flock to me. It's simple, I get dogs- and they seem to get me.
When I met my wife she brought another incredible pup into my world, a min-pin jack russell mix named Reese and we officially became “dog parents.”
In 2016, life took us out to Chicago and I left my career in Personal Training. I started walking dogs in the city of Chicago because I thought it would be a fun way to pass the time while I figured out my next steps and then… it clicked for me. I was spending my days hanging out with cats and dogs, getting tons of exercise, and helping busy families. When a client told me she no longer worries about her pets because she knows they’re being taken care of while she’s at work, I knew this was what I was meant to do. A few months later, I was running a full-fledged pet care service.
During the two short years we lived in Chicago, we had all three dogs living on the 4th floor of an apartment building… with no elevator. The doxies couldn’t go up and down the stairs so we had to carry them up and down at least 3 times a day- sometimes in the middle of the night! Many times in the middle of the night actually. Needless to say, we know how much love and attention pets need, and it's our mission and absolute pleasure to help families take care of them.
Luckily for us, we came back to Orange County (no longer just dog parents, but people parents!) and have been able to bring our services to our home community. Since that first stroll in Chicago, I’ve personally worked with over 350 dogs and cats. We hope to be a bright spot in your pet’s day and a helping hand in your homes.
